PBKS would be reluctant to make too many changes as they reached the IPL 2025 final after a decade.
The PBKS Retention List 2026 was announced today as the retention deadline for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) Auction was set for November 15. Along with PBKS, the remaining nine teams have also submitted their list of retained and released players for the same.
Punjab Kings (PBKS), who played an IPL Final for the first time in 11 years last season, will be hoping to go the distance this time around and have announced the Punjab Kings retention list accordingly. It features a strong core of Indian players and their top overseas stars, who played a crucial role in their runners-up finish in IPL 2025.

The Punjab management built a strong core last time around which helped them qualify for the final. The PBKS Retained players 2026 list thus includes all their key players. A total of 21 players were retained with only five names being released.
The biggest names to face the axe were Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis and PBKS will need to find replacements for them. The PBKS remaining purse is INR 11.5 crores with only four slots to fill.
Let’s check top 3 PBKS targets for IPL 2026 auction.
Michael Bracewell – With Maxwell released, PBKS need a solid spin-bowling all-rounder in the team. This is where the Kiwi can step in with his useful spin bowling while adding firepower to the batting attack.
Rishad Hossain – Rishad Hossain could be bought as a backup for Yuzvendra Chahal and has the potential to be the perfect long-term successor. He is also handy with the bat and can add more depth to the PBKS lineup.
Tim Seifert – Another Kiwi who can be on the PBKS radar is Tim Seifert. They need a replacement for Josh Inglis and Seifert has enough experience playing in franchise T20 leagues and has looked in fiery form during the CPL 2025 earlier this year.
PBKS almost have a set side going into the auction and will look to make a few strategic additions to further bolster the side. Check every PBKS Auction news here.

The biggest challenge for PBKS will be to fill the void of Glenn Maxwell. They will need to find a solid middle-order hitter, a role in which Maxwell couldn’t deliver last season. PBKS might also look for a spinning option to add to their roster alongside Yuzvendra Chahal and Harpreet Brar.
The final PBKS purse value available for IPL 2026 auction is INR 11.5 crore and four slots remaining to be filled.
