Punjab Kings' coach has shared Shreays Iyer injury update before their next match tomorrow.

The Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer had sustained a blow on his wrist during their IPL 2026 opener against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on March 31. Shreyas Iyer Injury Update Ahead of CSK vs PBKS IPL 2026 Match

Notably, the incident took place during the 12th over of the chase, when a shot from Australian youngster Cooper Connolly directly hit the batter. He immediately fell on the ground and was seen in a lot of pain. After receiving medical assistance from the physios, Shreyas had decided to continue his innings. But unfortunately, he was dismissed on the very next ball by Prasidh Krishna, returning for just 18 runs off 11 deliveries.

The captain had also addressed the concerns regarding his wrist injury at the post-match presentation ceremony. He stated that the injury was not a major blow and hoped to recover on time. However, as per Cricbuzz, the franchise’s assistant coach, Brad Haddin, has confirmed Shreyas’ availability for tomorrow’s CSK vs PBKS game at the Chepauk. Fortunately, there has not been any fracture in his right wrist.

Punjab Kings Would Look to Continue Winning Momentum

The previous edition’s runners-up have also started off the IPL 2026 with a victory, and the Shreyas-led team would want to carry on the same momentum in their forthcoming fixtures. On the other hand, a revamped CSK side would be under pressure to return to winning ways at home after kickstarting their campaign with an embarrassing loss in Guwahati.

Former captain MS Dhoni and star batter Dewald Brevis’ absences significantly troubled their batting order while facing the Rajasthan Royals (RR). But the Super Kings’ batters would be keen to put up a stellar show in their maiden match of the IPL 2026 in front of a home crowd.
