Following a draw in the two-match red-ball series, India A will next take on South Africa A for three 50-over fixtures. The unofficial ODI series between the two sides will kickstart on November 13, just before the Proteas Test series opener against India on November 14.
The India vs South Africa Tests will also be followed by three ODI matches. However, the Proteas tour of India will conclude with the five-T20I series, before the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 finalists clash again in the upcoming edition in February 2026.
The young India A squad will be led by Tilak Varma, while Ruturaj Gaikwad has been elected as the vice-captain for the series. Notably, after notching up a match-winning 69 not out in the ACC Asia Cup 2025 Final, Tilak had scored a stunning 94 in the second unofficial ODI against Australia A.
But the batter has recently endured an underwhelming tour of Australia, putting up only 34 runs in four T20Is, including a duck and a single-digit score. On the other hand, Gaikwad will be entering the series after a smashing start to his Ranji Trophy 2025-26 campaign. The batter’s latest scores in the red-ball format read as – 36*, 116, 55*, and 91.
The India A vs South Africa A 50-over series will also witness some key figures back in action, including Abhishek Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Ishan Kishan, and Riyan Parag. All three unofficial ODI fixtures will take place at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
