KKR Announces Former Rajasthan Royals Player As New Addition to Coaching Staff for IPL 2026

Three-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have made a new addition to their coaching staff in Dishant Yagnik for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) season. KKR, who finished at the bottom half of the points table in eighth in the previous edition, will now be hoping to turn around their fortunes for a rejuvenated outing.

A KKR statement after the development read, “Yagnik’s transition to KKR ahead of the upcoming IPL marks an exciting new chapter in the former cricketer’s coaching journey.”

Dishant Yagnik will join the franchise to bolster the fielding side, a key department in a highly competitive league like the IPL. He joins the coaching management lead by head coach, Abhishek Nayar, alongside team mentor Dwayne Bravo, assistant coach Shane Watson, bowling coach Tim Southee, Power coach Andre Russell and strength & conditioning coach Chris Donaldson

Speaking about the 42-year-old’s credentials, he was with Rajasthan Royals(RR) as fielding coach till last season before joining KKR. Previously, he has also served as head coach of the Puducherry state team.

Apart from that, Yagnik himself has played in the IPL too, for the Royals from 2011 to 2015. He has played a total of 25 games, scoring 170 runs in 17 innings.

Given his experience in the league, Dishant will now look to contribute his knowledge to the development of the KKR franchise in IPL 2026.
