Cameron Green Spotted Bowling in Nets, Confirms All-Round Role Ahead of KKR vs SRH IPL 2026 [WATCH]

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Cameron Green recently came under the spotlight after he did not bowl during their Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) opener against Mumbai Indians (MI). When quizzed about the same, KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane gave a confusing response saying, “ask Cricket Australia (CA)”.

Rahane’s words stirred quite a debate with fans questioning if paying a staggering INR 25.2 crores was worth it if Green isn’t going to bowl.

However, CA responded to the KKR captain’s comments, clarifying that Cameron Green has a lower back concern which is being managed and that he will be ready to bowl in 10-12 days. CA also specified that the same has been conveyed to the three-time IPL champions.

Amidst all the speculations of if and when the Aussie star is going to bowl, Kolkata posted a video of their star all-rounder bowling in nets ahead of the KKR vs SRH match tomorrow (April 2).

Will Cameron Green bowl in KKR vs SRH match?

The KKR pace battery has been severely depleted with a number of injuries that saw Harshit Rana and Akash Deep getting ruled out for the season after Mustafizur Rahman was released due to political reasons. Furthermore, Sri Lankan speedster Matheesha Pathirana is still rehabbing from a calf-strain and isn’t match-fit yet.

While KKR managed to buy replacements, the absence of their premier fast bowlers was evident as the likes of Vaibhav Arora, Blessing Muzarabani and Kartik Tyagi got taken to the cleaners in the match against MI where they failed to defend a target of 221.

It thus becomes extremely crucial for KKR to see Cameron Green resume his bowling duties. Touted to fill the void left by Andre Russell, the Aussie will need to deliver across departments and play a pivotal role if KKR have to lift their fourth title.

He can hit the deck hard and generate extra bounce to trouble batters and can be used as an enforcer to get breakthroughs or restrict run flow in the middle overs. It remains to be seen if he bowls in KKR vs SRH game, but even if he doesn’t, the recent video suggests Green will be back rolling his arm over soon.
