India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal missed the last leg of Ranji Trophy 2025-26 group matches for Mumbai due to acute gastroenteritis, which first appeared as stomach cramps during a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT 2025) match last December. But his recent absence from the domestic red-ball cricket tournament raises the question of what is Yashasvi Jaiswal return date.
The answer is simple. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been named squad for the Mumbai vs Karnataka Ranji Trophy 2025-26 quarter-final, slated to start from February 6.
Ahead of the Mumbai vs Karnataka Ranji Trophy 2025-26 quarterfinal scheduled for February 6, Yashasvi Jaiswal was named in the 16-member Mumbai squad. The dynamic left-hander, who missed Mumbai’s last group stage game against Delhi, after he was advised to undergo further evaluation after a consultation with a doctor.
When the food-poisoning incident happened first, which led to gastroenteritis, he had to be taken to the hospital and also caused around 2 kgs of weight loss in him. Nevertheless, his condition has improved, and he has been cleared to start physical activity.
He returned to action during the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT 2025-26) and was also named in the India ODI squad for the New Zealand series.
However, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) was not too happy that Jaiswal did not play the last few matches despite being free of international commitments.
